TechQ Crossbody Messenger Bag: Review

September 20, 2017

I’ve been carrying the TECHQ crossbody messenger bag every day for a while now and it is pretty darn close to a perfect Every Day Carry bag. It is small but surprisingly spacious – it easily fits my laptop (12” x 8”) without having to remove any of my usual contents and I can stuff in a few books on top of that. It has a single strap that can be attached to either side (depending on what shoulder you want to wear it over), a drink holder on the side, and a discreet pocket to stash a wallet or other valuables.  Bag dimensions are 18 inches (H) x 11.5 inches (L) x 4.0 inches (W).

My main complaint is the strap design – I’d prefer it to be slightly more padded and to have a built-in way to store extra strap if it is adjusted to fit a smaller person (mine is secured with a rubber band and a hair tie). The straps are also connected to the bag with D-rings which work *fine* but aren’t the best option. Personally, I hate when the angle of the strap pulls on the D-ring so that it isn’t situated properly, so I’d have chosen to go with a completely round ring instead.

As a bonus it has ZERO Velcro on it which is vital – so much so that I’ve been known to remove Velcro and replace it with any other fastener ever at all. I can’t stand when I need to open my bag and everyone can hear the Velcro.

Overall, if you want a bag that is small enough for every day but can fit your computer and is comfortable to carry on long excursions but also small enough that you don’t feel like you’re wearing a turtle shell that whacks people every time you turn around – then this is the bag for you.
